Chess: book 2 in vampires in wonderland by Candace Robinson & Amber R. Duell

                                                          Chess (Vampires in Wonderland, #2)

                                                                             5 star

This is the second book in "The Vampires in Wonderland" book series. In this book, we follow Chess, the son of The Queen of Hearts, and Ever, The White Queen and sister of Rav. We also have dual perspectives, like in the first book, which helps us because we are following two very different people. Ever is a good person. She loves and care's about her friends. Chess, on the other hand, is not a nice person & only cares about himself & his mother. I love the way Chess keeps saying sexual innuendos to Ever because he knows it annoys her. I don't think they hate each other as much as they think they do because they keep looking at each other when the other is not looking. They keep thinking about what it would be like to sleep with each other. The sexual tension is building between them and I love it. I love the way Chess gets so jealous of Ever being friends with March, who is one of her old guards and is still loyal to her. The steam gets real in the second half of this book. I think the way Chess has changed, for Ever, is beautiful. The ending is so crazy I can't wait for the third and final book.

Dear Girl by Aija Mayrock

5 star This is a poetry book for women. It deals with a lot of different topics such as the #me-to0 movement, the right for a woman to decide who she wants to share her body with, as well as, a woman's right to be heard, just to name a few. I really liked that the book was narrated by the author because it made it feel more impactful coming from her the way she wanted it to come across.

The Project by Courtney Summers

5 star This book gives you an inside look at what it's like to be involved with a colt and the way a colt leader can manipulate other people's minds and souls to the point where they question everything about themselves and the way the world works. This story follows two different timelines involving two sisters, Bea and Lo, You get to read about the path that each sister takes, past and present. This book deals heavily with religion. I personally am not a huge fan of this but I understand why it needed to be in the book. I really did enjoy reading this book. I give it a 5-star rating and I plan on buying a copy when it comes out. Thank you, NetGalley, for putting this book in the read now section. This book is one of my most anticipated released books for 2021

DNF at 18% DNF at 18% This book just did not click with me. Both of the main characters just annoyed me beyond belief. There were certain things about the plot that bothered me. I really wanted to enjoy this book because I loved the movie "Parent Trap", as a child, as well as, the movie "Freaky Friday". Overall, I just could not get into this book no matter how hard I tried.
